Professional movers carrying a box outside a residential building in Edmonton.
Riverdale’s got river valley views and hills that’ll make you sweat on moving day. We’ve hauled couches up those slopes more times than we can count, and we’re trusted movers who know exactly what we’re getting into when someone books a job here. The homes are worth it though – character, space, and those ravine lots that everyone wants. We’ve been moving people in and out of this neighbourhood long enough to know which streets flood your truck with fall leaves and which driveways are tighter than they look online.

Why Choose Us for Your Riverdale Move

The hills here aren’t a joke, and neither are we. YEG Movers brings the right equipment because we’ve learned the hard way what works and what doesn’t. We’re owner-operated, which means the person quoting your job actually cares if it goes well. No bait-and-switch pricing – what we quote is what you pay. Our crews have moved everything from baby grands down winding staircases to entire home offices during lunch breaks. We show up when we say we will, we don’t trash your floors, and we don’t complain about stairs. That’s the bare minimum, but apparently not everyone does it.

Comprehensive Services Tailored to Your Needs

Maybe you just need us to move the heavy stuff while you handle the boxes. Maybe you want us to pack everything, move it, store it for a month, then deliver it. We do both. Our heated storage facility keeps your belongings safe if your closing dates don’t line up or you’re between places. Downsizing your parents? We’ve done hundreds of senior moves and know how to make it less overwhelming. Need help today? We take same-day calls when we can fit them in. Our packing shop on 93 Avenue stocks proper moving supplies, not the flimsy stuff that falls apart halfway through packing.

What Sets Us Apart in Edmonton

We call two days ahead to confirm timing because nobody wants to sit around guessing. Our guys wrap your furniture properly with real moving blankets, not garbage bags and duct tape. You tell us where things go, and we put them there – not in the garage for you to deal with later. Found a cheaper quote somewhere else? Show ย  and we’ll match it if they’re legit. Our office is open all hours because moving emergencies happen at weird times. We’ve been doing this long enough to have systems that work, and we’re not interested in cutting corners to save ten minutes.

About Riverdale, Edmonton

Riverdale sits right on the river valley with some of the best views in the city. Homes here date back to the early 1900s, and people pay extra for the mature trees and ravine access. The neighbourhood’s quiet, established, and full of families who’ve been here for decades. You’re minutes from downtown but feel like you’re nowhere near it. Mayfair Golf Club is right there, and the river valley trails are basically your backyard. It’s one of those places people move to and don’t leave.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Think of it as a grand adventure! Pack like you’re preparing for a treasure huntโ€”everything in one place, labeled with the enthusiasm of a pirate’s map. And remember, the more organized you are, the less time you’ll spend searching for that one crucial item that always seems to go missing.

Treat them like VIPs! Arrange a cozy ‘pet suite’ for them, complete with their favorite toys and snacks. Maybe even consider a ‘pet concierge’โ€”aka, a friend whoโ€™ll make sure your furry friend gets their daily dose of cuddles and treats.

Turn packing into a game show! Challenge yourself to see how quickly you can pack a box or make it a competition with family members. The winner gets bragging rights and maybe even a homemade trophyโ€”crafted from packing peanuts, of course.

Get creative with your labels! Instead of just โ€œkitchen,โ€ try โ€œWhere the Magic Happensโ€ or โ€œHome of the Tasty Delights.โ€ Itโ€™ll make unpacking a lot more fun and give your movers a chuckle or two.

Wrap them in bubble wrap and call it their โ€œsecurity blanket.โ€ Just imagine theyโ€™re on a royal journey, and youโ€™re their trusty guardian ensuring they arrive in style, complete with an occasional pop for good luck.

Unpacking can be a race! Set a timer and see how much you can get done before it goes off. For extra fun, make it a family relay race where each person tackles a different room, and then celebrate with a dance party once youโ€™re done.

Imagine youโ€™re in an epic heist movieโ€”strategize your moves, recruit a team of strong allies (friends or movers), and make use of all the gadgets (dollies and straps) in your โ€œtoolkitโ€ to maneuver your treasure safely through the labyrinth of doorways and hallways.

Unpack the essentials firstโ€”your favorite blanket, the coffee maker, and anything that makes you feel cozy. Itโ€™s like setting up a mini-vacation in your new home before you dive into the daily grind.

Channel your inner action hero and tackle it with confidence. Whether itโ€™s a broken item or a minor hiccup, handle it with flair and remember, every great adventure has a few plot twists. Just laugh it off and keep moving forward.

Think of it like planning a partyโ€”budget for the essentials and sprinkle in some fun extras if you can. Create a โ€œMoving Budget Bingoโ€ where you mark off items as you handle them, and reward yourself with a small treat once you hit a bingo!

We suggest emptying out the contents of drawers into moving boxes to reduce the stress on the piece of furniture which is being moved. It is also harder to move a dresser full of clothes than empty; therefore it may increase the amount of time it takes to move the piece.

No, unfortunately for legal & liability reasons we do not allow customers to ride in the moving truck. We arrange a taxi or chauffeur for you, at an added cost.

For local moves payment is due at the completion of the move, or in some cases before the unload if the move is to go past business hours, or if the customer does not have a credit card on file. For long distance moves, payment is always due prior to the unload.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Amex, American Express, Email Money Transfer, Bank Draft, Money Order. There is a processing charge of 4% on credit cards.

We absolutely do! All our trucks are wrapped in our company branding. During the busy season we do sometimes have to rent trucks although the rentals are still equipped with all the necessary moving equipment.
