Professional movers carrying a box outside a residential building in Edmonton.

Alberta Avenue is changing fast, and we’ve been right here watching it happen. Young families moving into renovated heritage homes, artists setting up studios in converted warehouses, and longtime residents who remember when 118th Avenue was the place to be. We love this neighbourhood’s energy and resilience.

ย

As comprehensive movers, we’ve helped people at every stage – from students cramming everything into a basement suite to families buying their first house with a real yard. The diversity here keeps our job interesting, and frankly, Alberta Avenue folks are some of the most genuine people we work with.

Movers Who Actually Care About Your Stuff

Moving day doesn’t have to feel like a disaster waiting to happen. YEG Movers treats your grandmother’s china the same way we’d handle our own – carefully, with proper packing materials, and zero rushing around. We’ve moved vintage record collections, homemade pottery, and way too many houseplants to count.

ย

Our crew knows the difference between something that’s replaceable and something that’s not. When you’re trusting strangers with everything you own, that distinction matters more than you might think until moving day arrives.

One Company, All Your Moving Needs

Stop trying to coordinate three different companies for one move. We pack, move, store, and even haul away the stuff you’re finally getting rid of. Our heated warehouse on 93rd Avenue keeps your belongings safe whether you need storage for two weeks or two years.

ย

Winter moves are tough enough without worrying about your furniture freezing in some unheated unit across town. Need moving supplies? We’ve got boxes, tape, and packing materials right at our shop. It’s all designed to make your life simpler, not more complicated.

Why Alberta Avenue Residents Choose Us

We don’t charge extra for narrow streets or tricky parking situations. Alberta Avenue has both, and we’ve figured out how to work around them. When the Nguyen family needed to move during Taste of Edmonton week and half the streets were blocked off, we found another route.

ย

When Sarah’s moving day coincided with her toddler’s meltdown, our crew kept working quietly until things settled down. This neighbourhood has taught us patience and creativity, two things every good moving company needs plenty of.

Local Knowledge Makes the Difference

Fifteen years of moving families around Edmonton means we know where the problems are before they happen. Which buildings have tiny elevators, which streets always have construction in summer, and which landlords actually care about pruning their tenants’ deposits?

ย

We’ve seen Alberta Avenue transform from a place people were nervous about to one of the most interesting neighbourhoods in the city. That transformation happened because residents invested in their community, and we’re proud to be part of that story.

About Alberta Avenue

Alberta Avenue runs through the heart of northeast Edmonton, connecting communities and cultures in ways that make this neighbourhood special. The area blends heritage buildings with modern developments, creating affordable housing options that attract everyone from young professionals to growing families.

ย

The annual Canada Day Street Festival showcases the community spirit that makes Alberta Avenue unique. Local businesses line 118th Avenue, giving the area a small-town feel despite being minutes from downtown. It’s a neighbourhood where people look out for each other and take pride in calling it home.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Think of it as a grand adventure! Pack like you’re preparing for a treasure huntโ€”everything in one place, labeled with the enthusiasm of a pirate’s map. And remember, the more organized you are, the less time you’ll spend searching for that one crucial item that always seems to go missing.

Treat them like VIPs! Arrange a cozy ‘pet suite’ for them, complete with their favorite toys and snacks. Maybe even consider a ‘pet concierge’โ€”aka, a friend whoโ€™ll make sure your furry friend gets their daily dose of cuddles and treats.

Turn packing into a game show! Challenge yourself to see how quickly you can pack a box or make it a competition with family members. The winner gets bragging rights and maybe even a homemade trophyโ€”crafted from packing peanuts, of course.

Get creative with your labels! Instead of just โ€œkitchen,โ€ try โ€œWhere the Magic Happensโ€ or โ€œHome of the Tasty Delights.โ€ Itโ€™ll make unpacking a lot more fun and give your movers a chuckle or two.

Wrap them in bubble wrap and call it their โ€œsecurity blanket.โ€ Just imagine theyโ€™re on a royal journey, and youโ€™re their trusty guardian ensuring they arrive in style, complete with an occasional pop for good luck.

Unpacking can be a race! Set a timer and see how much you can get done before it goes off. For extra fun, make it a family relay race where each person tackles a different room, and then celebrate with a dance party once youโ€™re done.

Imagine youโ€™re in an epic heist movieโ€”strategize your moves, recruit a team of strong allies (friends or movers), and make use of all the gadgets (dollies and straps) in your โ€œtoolkitโ€ to maneuver your treasure safely through the labyrinth of doorways and hallways.

Unpack the essentials firstโ€”your favorite blanket, the coffee maker, and anything that makes you feel cozy. Itโ€™s like setting up a mini-vacation in your new home before you dive into the daily grind.

Channel your inner action hero and tackle it with confidence. Whether itโ€™s a broken item or a minor hiccup, handle it with flair and remember, every great adventure has a few plot twists. Just laugh it off and keep moving forward.

Think of it like planning a partyโ€”budget for the essentials and sprinkle in some fun extras if you can. Create a โ€œMoving Budget Bingoโ€ where you mark off items as you handle them, and reward yourself with a small treat once you hit a bingo!

We suggest emptying out the contents of drawers into moving boxes to reduce the stress on the piece of furniture which is being moved. It is also harder to move a dresser full of clothes than empty; therefore it may increase the amount of time it takes to move the piece.

No, unfortunately for legal & liability reasons we do not allow customers to ride in the moving truck. We arrange a taxi or chauffeur for you, at an added cost.

For local moves payment is due at the completion of the move, or in some cases before the unload if the move is to go past business hours, or if the customer does not have a credit card on file. For long distance moves, payment is always due prior to the unload.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Amex, American Express, Email Money Transfer, Bank Draft, Money Order. There is a processing charge of 4% on credit cards.

We absolutely do! All our trucks are wrapped in our company branding. During the busy season we do sometimes have to rent trucks although the rentals are still equipped with all the necessary moving equipment.
