Professional movers carrying a box outside a residential building in Edmonton.

Eastwood’s got character, and moving here takes someone who gets that. The old houses with steep front steps, the narrow back alleys, and the way everyone waves when you drive by – it’s different from those cookie-cutter suburbs. We’ve been the best moving team for families in this neighbourhood for over a decade because we respect what makes Eastwood special.

ย

Whether you’re buying your first home on 118th Avenue or your grandparents are downsizing from the house they’ve lived in since 1965, we treat every move like it’s our own family’s stuff we’re handling.

Moving Done Right the First Time

People call us because their friends told them to. That’s how it works in Eastwood – word spreads fast when someone does good work. YEG Movers doesn’t advertise much because we don’t need to. Mrs. Patterson told her sister about us after we moved her piano without scratching her hardwood. Her sister told the Kowalskis.

ย

The Kowalskis recommended us to their neighbours. Pretty soon, we’re moving whole blocks. We show up with clean trucks, proper equipment, and guys who won’t track mud through your kitchen. It’s not complicated, but apparently it’s rare enough that people notice.

Storage When Life Gets Complicated

Sometimes your timeline doesn’t work out perfectly. Maybe your new place isn’t ready, or you’re renovating and need everything out for three weeks. Our heated storage units keep your belongings safe while you sort things out. No frozen furniture, no musty smells, just your stuff waiting for you when you’re ready.

ย

We’ve got portable storage containers too – we drop one off, you pack at your own pace, and we move it when you’re done. Beats cramming everything into your garage or begging relatives for basement space.

What Sets Us Apart

We actually live here too. Our warehouse is on 93rd Avenue, not some industrial park outside the city. When you call, you’re talking to Edmonton people who know which streets flood every spring and where to park the truck without blocking your neighbour’s driveway.

ย

We’ve moved families from those beautiful old houses near the river to modern condos downtown. We’ve helped seniors downsize and young couples move up. Each move teaches us something new about making the process easier for everyone involved.

Real People, Real Service

Look, moving companies have a reputation for a reason. Too many guys show up late, break your stuff, and then disappear when it’s time to pay for damages. We’re different because we have to be – this is our community too. Our kids play hockey with your kids. We shop at the same Sobeys.

ย

When we mess up (and everyone does sometimes), we stick around to make it right. That’s how business should work, but somehow it’s become our competitive advantage.

About Eastwood

Eastwood sits right on the North Saskatchewan River, giving residents some of the best views in Edmonton. The neighbourhood mixes character homes from the 1940s and 50s with newer developments, creating a unique blend that attracts families at every stage of life.

ย

Rundle Park is practically in your backyard, perfect for summer festivals and winter skating. The area has that small-town feel where neighbours actually know each other’s names, even though you’re minutes from downtown. It’s Edmonton living with a bit more personality and a lot more trees.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Think of it as a grand adventure! Pack like you’re preparing for a treasure huntโ€”everything in one place, labeled with the enthusiasm of a pirate’s map. And remember, the more organized you are, the less time you’ll spend searching for that one crucial item that always seems to go missing.

Treat them like VIPs! Arrange a cozy ‘pet suite’ for them, complete with their favorite toys and snacks. Maybe even consider a ‘pet concierge’โ€”aka, a friend whoโ€™ll make sure your furry friend gets their daily dose of cuddles and treats.

Turn packing into a game show! Challenge yourself to see how quickly you can pack a box or make it a competition with family members. The winner gets bragging rights and maybe even a homemade trophyโ€”crafted from packing peanuts, of course.

Get creative with your labels! Instead of just โ€œkitchen,โ€ try โ€œWhere the Magic Happensโ€ or โ€œHome of the Tasty Delights.โ€ Itโ€™ll make unpacking a lot more fun and give your movers a chuckle or two.

Wrap them in bubble wrap and call it their โ€œsecurity blanket.โ€ Just imagine theyโ€™re on a royal journey, and youโ€™re their trusty guardian ensuring they arrive in style, complete with an occasional pop for good luck.

Unpacking can be a race! Set a timer and see how much you can get done before it goes off. For extra fun, make it a family relay race where each person tackles a different room, and then celebrate with a dance party once youโ€™re done.

Imagine youโ€™re in an epic heist movieโ€”strategize your moves, recruit a team of strong allies (friends or movers), and make use of all the gadgets (dollies and straps) in your โ€œtoolkitโ€ to maneuver your treasure safely through the labyrinth of doorways and hallways.

Unpack the essentials firstโ€”your favorite blanket, the coffee maker, and anything that makes you feel cozy. Itโ€™s like setting up a mini-vacation in your new home before you dive into the daily grind.

Channel your inner action hero and tackle it with confidence. Whether itโ€™s a broken item or a minor hiccup, handle it with flair and remember, every great adventure has a few plot twists. Just laugh it off and keep moving forward.

Think of it like planning a partyโ€”budget for the essentials and sprinkle in some fun extras if you can. Create a โ€œMoving Budget Bingoโ€ where you mark off items as you handle them, and reward yourself with a small treat once you hit a bingo!

We suggest emptying out the contents of drawers into moving boxes to reduce the stress on the piece of furniture which is being moved. It is also harder to move a dresser full of clothes than empty; therefore it may increase the amount of time it takes to move the piece.

No, unfortunately for legal & liability reasons we do not allow customers to ride in the moving truck. We arrange a taxi or chauffeur for you, at an added cost.

For local moves payment is due at the completion of the move, or in some cases before the unload if the move is to go past business hours, or if the customer does not have a credit card on file. For long distance moves, payment is always due prior to the unload.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Amex, American Express, Email Money Transfer, Bank Draft, Money Order. There is a processing charge of 4% on credit cards.

We absolutely do! All our trucks are wrapped in our company branding. During the busy season we do sometimes have to rent trucks although the rentals are still equipped with all the necessary moving equipment.
