Professional movers carrying a box outside a residential building in Edmonton.
Spruce Avenue is smack in the middle of the city, which is great until you’re trying to park a moving truck on a busy street. We do moves here all the time because people are constantly relocating in and out. You need a reliable moving team when you’re dealing with old walk-ups, basement apartments, and buildings that have quirks you can’t predict. We know these blocks. We know which buildings have awkward stairwells and where parking actually exists. Central Edmonton properties need movers who’ve been around, not guys figuring it out on your dime.

What Your Money Gets You

When you hire YEG Movers, you’re getting people who’ve done this hundreds of times. We’re not sending green crews to learn on your furniture. Our guys know how to wrap your stuff, protect your floors, and pack a truck so nothing breaks. We walk through and mark what’s fragile, pad everything that needs it, and move quickly without being careless. Before we start, you get a work order that spells out what you’re paying for. Labour, truck, insurance, all of it. No weird charges showing up later. Just clear numbers for clear work.

Moving in This Neighbourhood Takes Experience

These buildings weren’t built for California king beds and sectional sofas. Stairways are cramped, doorways are old-school narrow, and street parking disappears by 8 a.m. We plan around all of that before we show up. Our crew brings proper equipment, sorts out parking ahead of time when we can, and adjusts to whatever your building throws at us. Third floor with no elevator? Done it. Basement suite with a weird entrance? Handled it. We get there on time, work fast, and clean up after ourselves. Every time.

Storage When You're Between Places

Maybe your lease ended, but your new place isn’t ready. Maybe you’re renovating and need your furniture gone for a month. Our heated storage keeps everything safe through winter, and we’ve got portable units if you’d rather have storage delivered. It all sits at our warehouse on 93 Avenue, and you can get to it whenever. No hoops to jump through, no complicated rules. Just a place to keep your stuff until you need it back.

Why People Keep Calling Us

We pay our movers more than anyone else because we want people who give a damn. That matters when they’re carrying your grandmother’s dresser or loading boxes marked “fragile.” Our manager calls two days before your move to lock down timing and answer any last questions. We pick up when you call. We adjust when plans shift. Moving is already annoying enough without worrying if your movers are going to flake or break your stuff.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Think of it as a grand adventure! Pack like you’re preparing for a treasure huntโ€”everything in one place, labeled with the enthusiasm of a pirate’s map. And remember, the more organized you are, the less time you’ll spend searching for that one crucial item that always seems to go missing.

Treat them like VIPs! Arrange a cozy ‘pet suite’ for them, complete with their favorite toys and snacks. Maybe even consider a ‘pet concierge’โ€”aka, a friend whoโ€™ll make sure your furry friend gets their daily dose of cuddles and treats.

Turn packing into a game show! Challenge yourself to see how quickly you can pack a box or make it a competition with family members. The winner gets bragging rights and maybe even a homemade trophyโ€”crafted from packing peanuts, of course.

Get creative with your labels! Instead of just โ€œkitchen,โ€ try โ€œWhere the Magic Happensโ€ or โ€œHome of the Tasty Delights.โ€ Itโ€™ll make unpacking a lot more fun and give your movers a chuckle or two.

Wrap them in bubble wrap and call it their โ€œsecurity blanket.โ€ Just imagine theyโ€™re on a royal journey, and youโ€™re their trusty guardian ensuring they arrive in style, complete with an occasional pop for good luck.

Unpacking can be a race! Set a timer and see how much you can get done before it goes off. For extra fun, make it a family relay race where each person tackles a different room, and then celebrate with a dance party once youโ€™re done.

Imagine youโ€™re in an epic heist movieโ€”strategize your moves, recruit a team of strong allies (friends or movers), and make use of all the gadgets (dollies and straps) in your โ€œtoolkitโ€ to maneuver your treasure safely through the labyrinth of doorways and hallways.

Unpack the essentials firstโ€”your favorite blanket, the coffee maker, and anything that makes you feel cozy. Itโ€™s like setting up a mini-vacation in your new home before you dive into the daily grind.

Channel your inner action hero and tackle it with confidence. Whether itโ€™s a broken item or a minor hiccup, handle it with flair and remember, every great adventure has a few plot twists. Just laugh it off and keep moving forward.

Think of it like planning a partyโ€”budget for the essentials and sprinkle in some fun extras if you can. Create a โ€œMoving Budget Bingoโ€ where you mark off items as you handle them, and reward yourself with a small treat once you hit a bingo!

We suggest emptying out the contents of drawers into moving boxes to reduce the stress on the piece of furniture which is being moved. It is also harder to move a dresser full of clothes than empty; therefore it may increase the amount of time it takes to move the piece.

No, unfortunately for legal & liability reasons we do not allow customers to ride in the moving truck. We arrange a taxi or chauffeur for you, at an added cost.

For local moves payment is due at the completion of the move, or in some cases before the unload if the move is to go past business hours, or if the customer does not have a credit card on file. For long distance moves, payment is always due prior to the unload.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Amex, American Express, Email Money Transfer, Bank Draft, Money Order. There is a processing charge of 4% on credit cards.

We absolutely do! All our trucks are wrapped in our company branding. During the busy season we do sometimes have to rent trucks although the rentals are still equipped with all the necessary moving equipment.
